Dragonfly!

You lit on my wrist,
diaphanous wings delicate,
enmeshing wind and light
and eons of time.
Water-born Nymph!
Mother of summer’s shimmer!
Crone self-transforming!
I thank you
for the instant teaching
of Your touch,
ineffable lightness, transparent joy,
trembling tracing message.
In sudden trance connection,
You spoke through me, stern savior,
directing wise rescue,
averting death!
I have been channel, a hollow reed,
bending
in the River of Your Abundance,
in grateful awe of Mystery.
Between heart-beats,
between breaths,
I feel Your fragile filigree of wings!
